What an ice cream cone sleeve has to do
A cone sleeve looks simple, and that is exactly why it is easy to get wrong. It has to slide on quickly during a rush, hold its position while the cone is eaten, and stay rigid after the first drip lands on it. Get the diameter wrong by a few millimeters and staff stop using them.
We cut every sleeve to the cone you actually serve. Send us a cone, a photo with a ruler beside it, or the cone supplier and product code, and we build the dieline around it. That is also why we ask for the cone type before quoting: a waffle cone and a kiddie cone need different wraps, and a sleeve built for waffle cones will sit loose on a standard one.
Board weight matters as much as the cut. Too light and the sleeve softens once melt soaks in; too heavy and it will not curl neatly. We print on stocks chosen for that balance, so the sleeve is still holding its shape at the bottom of the cone.
Kraft, white or recycled board?
All three are food safe and all three print well. The choice is about the look you want behind your artwork and the message you want to send.
- White SBS cardstock — the brightest base. Colors sit true, photographs reproduce cleanly, and a light or pastel palette stays light. This is the usual pick for full-color designs.
- Natural kraft — a warm brown ground that reads as artisan and handmade. Ink colors shift warmer on it, so it suits one- or two-color logos better than photographic art.
- Recycled board — a flecked, slightly gray stock for anyone leading on sustainability. Print sharpness is very close to white board, with a visibly reclaimed texture.
If you are unsure, ask for the same artwork proofed on two stocks. Seeing a design on kraft next to white settles the question in a minute, and there is no charge for the comparison. Our guide to cone sleeve materials and board choices goes deeper on weights and coatings.
Printing and finishing options
Full-color CMYK covers most work: photographs, gradients, illustrated characters, seasonal flavors. If your brand lives on one exact color, Pantone spot printing will hold it more accurately than a CMYK build, which is worth doing when the sleeve sits next to your cups and napkins.
Finishes change how the sleeve feels in the hand. Matte lamination gives a soft, modern surface and hides fingerprints. Gloss lifts color saturation and photographs. Spot UV picks out a logo in shine against a matte background, and foil stamping in gold, silver or copper is the one that reads as premium at a glance.
Uncoated is also a legitimate choice. It is the most recyclable option, takes a pencil or stamp if you want staff to mark flavors, and pairs naturally with kraft board.
Sizing, artwork and what happens after you order
Send whatever you have. If you already own a print-ready file, send the PDF, AI or EPS at 300 dpi and we will check bleed, safe margins and color build before anything goes to press. If you only have a logo and an idea, our team lays out the sleeve for you at no cost.
Once artwork is settled you get a digital proof showing the flat dieline and a mock-up on the cone. Nothing prints until you approve it in writing. Production then runs 6–7 business days, or 3–4 on a rush, and we ship flat-packed with tracking.

Materials and printing
Board and print, side by side
Three boards and three ways to print on them. Every combination below is quoted the same way, so the choice is about how you want the packaging to feel in the hand.
Choose the board
Natural kraft
Unbleached brown board. Ink sits into the surface rather than on top of it, which mutes bright colors and reads as craft and small-batch.
Recycled board
Post-consumer fiber with a slight fleck through it. It takes a one or two color mark well and tells the customer what it is without a claim printed on it.
Choose how it prints
Full-color CMYK
Four process inks. The right choice when the artwork is a photograph, an illustration or anything with a gradient in it.
Single-color logo
One ink on plain board. It is the least expensive way to print a run and, on kraft, it is often the better looking one.
Pantone spot colors
A mixed ink matched to a Pantone reference. Use it when a brand color has to be exact across every reprint.

What is the minimum order for ice cream cone sleeves?
Five hundred pieces per design. That is deliberately low so a single shop can test artwork or run a seasonal flavor without committing to a pallet. Volume pricing starts at 1,000 pieces and improves again at higher quantities.
Will the sleeve fit my cones?
It will if you tell us which cone you serve. Send a sample cone, a photo with a ruler next to it, or your cone supplier and product code, and we cut the dieline to that diameter. Standard, waffle, sugar and kiddie cones are all routine.
How long does an order take?
Production is 6–7 business days from the moment you approve the digital proof, and a 3–4 business day rush is available on request. Proofing itself usually takes a day, so a straightforward first order lands inside two weeks.
Are ice cream cone sleeves recyclable?
Kraft, recycled and uncoated white board all go into the paper stream. Laminated sleeves are more water resistant but harder to recycle, so if recyclability is the priority, ask for an uncoated finish and we will match the look another way.
Can I print photographs on a cone sleeve?
Yes, on white SBS board with full-color CMYK. Photographs also print on kraft, but the brown ground shifts colors warmer and mutes light tones, so kraft suits logos and line art better than photographic images.
Do you also make cone holders and trays?
We do. Sleeves handle the single cone in a customer’s hand; when someone is carrying several, a printed ice cream cone tray holds them upright. Shops commonly order both and print them to match.
What are ice cream cone jackets or wrappers?
They are other names for the same product. Cone jacket, cone wrapper and cone sleeve all describe the printed paper wrap that goes around the cone. If a supplier quotes you one of those terms, you are comparing like for like.
Do you ship outside the United States?
Yes. Most orders are for US ice cream shops, but we print and ship worldwide with tracking. International transit time is added on top of the 6–7 business day production window.
